My brother works for JCI and gets discounts if they make they battery is the only reason I mentioned it. Sears DieHard is on the list but I assume that doesn't include the high output, 4 year warrantied, military grade, continuum transfunctioner, platinum p4 or whatever else you wanna call it since they don't make that particular model :Handshake:

I've had a Duralast for the past 3 years. Still going strong. steamroller is correct. JC pretty much rules the vast majority of the auto battery market.
I bought the Duralast based on a 4 year old article from Consumer Reports that rated them the highest (at the time). Interstate was in the middle, while Autocraft and Diehard were fairly low. Don't know if much has changed since then. I imagine it has.
I have no experience with OPTIMA. Seems others say they go out after about 2 years or so. probably good to check other forums for addtional opinions.

It's all gravy. I meant to quote wpnzrule about the "military grade" comment. My P4 just seems to be more stable than the Optimas I've had before and so far and I've gone through 2 in my HOE, one red and one yellow. the yellow top died out of nowhere. I needed a battery and the P4 fit the bill with top post for my system and side post for the regular bs. Only time I've had a diehard die on me is when I let it sit too long.

I have OPTIMA Yellowtop for over 5 yrs and no problems.

I def do recommend DieHard either GOLD or Platium.

Gold is 8 year warranty. 3 yr full replacement 5 yr prorated

Platium is Diehards version of the Optima so it has both side and top terminals for extra gagets and gizmos plus the power to handle it. I think it has a 10 yr warranty. 4 yr full replacement and 6 yr prorated.

ONLY SOLD AT SEARS!

I am shopping for a battery now, 100 mo. warranty, 4 years full replacement, the balance is prorated on the Diehard Platinum, 3 years full, 100 mo. on the Gold

YOU ARE 110% WRONG!

Sears Diehard battery (Odyssey Battery Re-Branded) Has side and Top Terminals so it is a group 34/78. It is a AGM (Absorbed Glass Matt) which is Solid Lead Plates with Fiberglass sponges that hold the acid in battery. Batteries out weigh and out perform Optimas...THAT IS WHY THEY ARE Guaranteed to last longer! 8 year guarantee in which the first 4 years fully replaceable and 4 years pro-rated. Start at $219.99 and go on sale some time for 179 or 189.

Sears Equivalent to the Optima is the Advanced Gold which guarantee matches an Optima Battery 6 year in which 3 years fully Replaceable and 3 years Prorated. DOES NOT come with top terminals only the sides for 78. IMO it is waste for the extra few bucks get more CCA, RC, top terminals so it is easier to jump and run accessories and better guarantee.

Diehard Gold which is your basic Lead Acid combo with an 8 year guarantee in which the first 3 years fully replaceable and 5 years prorated.

DieHard Silver 6 year guarantee in which the first 1 and Half Fully Replaceable and 4 and half prorated.

DieHard Gold and Silver batteries are Deka Re-brands and manufactured by East Penn.
