Warning and door chime after amp install

Sorry, didn't know how else to title this. I added an amp to the Yukon but kept the factory deck. The god awful blinker and warning chimes are killing me through the door speakers with 150 watts behind em. I've got the DIC set to "Normal" but there's no low which is a bummer.

What have you guys done?

What happens when you replace the factory deck? Did you lose the chimes altogether? I read somewhere that someone put a small speaker under the dash. I'm curious how that works with an aftermarket deck, do you just use the RCA's for the amp and hardwire the speaker outputs to the new hidden speaker?

I keep turning my blinker off or cranking it up a little louder.

You lose the door chimes with aftermarket HU. When you buy a new wiring harness for the HU they give you a new little chime speaker box. I loved the factory chimes and now my chimes feel like something straight out of an 80s POS car. I HATE THEM!!!

A little speaker box eh? I wonder if it picks up the code and then makes the chime. I was thinking of just burying a little speaker under the dash and using that. Which box/harness did you use?

I bought all PAC harnesses, the OS4 to be exact. I assume it just picks up the GMLAN signals for turn signals, door ajar, etc. and just outputs them to their little 12v chime module. I am guessing I can look around for another 12v chime that sounds better and just splice it in. I am going to email them now and see if they have any recommendations.

I used a LOC to grab the inputs for my amps. However the chimes are ridiculously loud right now, that was my tradeoff to having them quiet but having engine noise when using the high level inputs. When I replace the deck, I was wondering if the HU itself was determining the chimes or if the sounds "passed through" the harness so to speak. Sounds like the OS4 takes care of that. I thought it was just a harness adapter, I didn't realize it had a chime built in. Maybe I'll get that adapter and swap the chime out to a small speaker under the dash instead.

yes, there is an adjuster ( or should be ) on LOC, if you turn it down to lower the ding, it may lower output at amp.

Sad inheritance from using a LOC.

are you using the LOC tapped into the front speakers outputs?
