Voalnt Install - MPG has decreased! Help

I installed a Volant cold air kit recently and my highway mpg has decreased from 19.5 to 15.5.

I have been driving out of town for work every week, and drive the same route, so I know my comparison is consistent.

Has anyone else experienced this?

No I have not been flooring it, I have kept the same driving style.

The only thing that was out of the ordinary with the instal is the air intake temp sensor in the intake pipe does not fit as tightly in the volant as the factory tube. The grommet where the sensor goes is loose in the tube.

Could this be my issue?

no CEL at all? Did you disconnect battery to reset computer? How long ago did you do install?

I installed it three weeks ago, battery rset as it died a day after install because the valet guy left my lights on, and reset with a scan tool this weekend

Dumb questions time (I have this installed and still pull 18.5 -19 mpg)

1) did you install both of the rubber rings to seal the box? (one on the kneck side, the other between the box and side wall)

2) did you get a good seal around the TB? Is it seated correctly?

3) Did you put the MAF in correctly?

1. I put one seal on the kneck side of the box, and the other seal on the fender apron and put the extra material into the hole in the box on the fender side. Is this not correct?

2. It felt like it seated correctly when i set it on the tb

3. I made sure the arrow pointed in the correct direction and clocked it just as the instructions stated

it is in the intake tube, but the grommet is not as tight as it was on the factory tube

maybe bleeding air in. does it mount between TB and MAF?

Sounds like you installed her correctly.... did you clean the MAF sensor? I cleaned mine since I had it out.

I would apply a little RTV sealant on the grommet and seal that up. If its leaking air that could be throwing off the air/fuel curve.

With that 4 mpg drop, look at all that power you're gaining lol.
Hell I would even be happy with 14 mpg, since I'm getting about 10 now.
Hope you find a solution. Are you sure you're not into the throttle more to hear the noise?

100% sure. I don't care about the sound, I have my music on too loud to hear it anyways.

I have purposley driven it very very easy to see if I can get my mpg to come back up to normal.
