Even a 2/4 would make a huge difference :)

I don't know, I'm kinda with ELIM on this one ... Hoes look good lowered but burbs not so much imho. It's such a long vehicle that it needs some height to look proportional (read: station wagon to infuriate Burb07)... but personal preferences obviously differ. :)

In some ways I agree with soulsea's opinion... but a burb with this much attention to detail needs at least a 2/3-4 IMO.

Do you have any more interior shots? It looks to be fine too!

Believe it or not , the rear was dropped 2" already to level it out.

I value all the opinions guys but I want to enjoy my 1st truck at it's current height. :D We are enjoying the "view". Honestly, the handling could be improved and I know it will be thru a lower drop. Plus easier to load, etc.

Btw, wife says she is breaking necks when cruising around. Said she stopped a black Challenger in his tracks! :laughing1:

J-Dub....I'm gonna take some better interior shots very soon!

i like the large station wagon.....:)

it looks good at the current height...the only thing that continually bugs me about the pics is the exhaust...i think something out the sides at the rear or something less in your face would look better on that truck. but thats just me.

Well, I can tell this is my kind of forum and glad that the Suburbans and alter-GM's are treated like fam!

Thought I'd share this here....

So, it seems when the 3rd seat was reupholstered by the previous owner, they failed to reinstall the belts. I bought this Burb anyways knowing that fact since I knew it could not only be fixed but improved to my liking.

I searched everywhere for the parts and in the end, the dealer seemed the best option. A couple of weeks ago, I ended up heading to the dealer and buying an OEM set of buckles and center belt assy for $80. Luckily, what I needed came as a whole set...2 buckles and mounting bracket and 1 buckle plus 1 lapbelt and mounting bracket. The dealer wanted over $20 for the 2 required bolts! So, I ended up going to the aftermarket fastener shop and buying 2 brand new bolts and washers per exact OEM specs for $2.00. :)

I decided to have a professional upholestery shop (http://stitchcraftinteriors.com/) help on the install as what I needed done I couldn't do by myself. Ended up NOT cutting the leather (as is normally done on the OEM 3rd seat) and instead running the buckles from the bottom of the seat thru the back of the seat. To do so, the nylon belts had to be lengthened. The shop had to cut the original OEM nylon and extend with new nylon material (plus restitch) in order to get all three buckles to reach far enough forward and rest on the seat.

BEFORE: (posted this in my first post but you can see the shoulder retractors in place yet missing the buckles and center lap belt)

Example of OEM: (buckles and center belt routed thru cutouts in the leather seat)

From underneath the seat, one of the holes to mount the belts:

Clean install all DONE!

wow. first of all im suprised you found a shop willing to take the liabiltiy of cutting and sewing the seat belts. thats just a big no no. looks fine. In my line of work, i'd cringe to see that at an accident scene. regardless of if it contributed to injuries or not.

But glad you made an effort to get belts installed though...?Just wish you would have done it OEM since its such a saftey issue but thats for you. and make sure you disclose the fact the seatbelts are modified if you wind up selling sometime.

but again, nice burb. glad theres more of us here that are longer...er...uh....u know.

The belts should be fine as long as they were re stitched correctly...

Is the "correctness" in the material used or in how it's actually stitched due to the strength needed in the belt??

I'd say both. I know nothing about upholstery but I'm sure a reputable shop would know they best way to do it. It's probably a somewhat stretchable nylon woven together for the material.
