I already searched and looked at some threads about bad chrome and i didnt really get much help. I found these U2 55s which i think look sick on our trucks. As you can see the look like they havent been cleaned in ages and they look like they have started to pit or bubble around the lips. The tires are good though. Do you think these are worth my time? I havent ask how much they want yet. Any opinions on how much they would be worth?

If they are the right price, then hell, why not?!... I am sure they are just real dirty since it may be too cold to go out and clean them. Or, just paint the darn things and call it a day. That is again, if the price is right.

If the tires are good then I would get them and take them to be powder coated.

In washington state it would cost about 50 bucks a rim to get powder coated.
and im pretty sure you can get them powder coated to look like the chrome and it will last a lot longer

I got a quote to get my 22s powdercoated for $200. That includes sandblasting but not sure about tax.

well what im trying to do is come out on top money wise, and just sell my 20s later, they look brand new so i figure i can get a little more money out of them. But i do have my yokohamas on my current wheels and i really hope 24s wont make it handle worse because the current set up makes it feel like its on rails in the twisties...for a truck of course

Media blast and powder is a pretty cost effective solution, assuming you can get them for a good price.

Please don't get those wheels. I'm so damn sick of seeing them, especially on Tahoes. There's so many types of rims and for some reason everyone with a Tahoe gets U2's or Slides.

02 you're looking at $80-$110 a wheel for media blasting/powder coating per wheel in our area. I think there used to be a place in the New Haven area that's a little cheaper, but can't remember the name. Check out www.prostrip.com
