Turning off Headlights as DRL

i couldn't find any info on this. i would like to disable my headlights and keep the parking/turn signals on as DRL. I'm Planning on installing some switchbacks for this project

I found one for the sierra but it didn't work for me. it involved removing two 15a fuses in the box. I believe there's another thread with info, but it involves coding? anyone have that thread handy?

Just followed that link and it works well.

i'm sure you could just disable the drl feature and then run relays to the running lights instead or rewire it to power the running lights, it's going to be tricky though because the automatic headlight feature will then either power the running lights instead or won't work and you will need to turn the headlights on manually. might be easier to just install a toggle switch

Or just turn the dial momentarily after starting the vehicle. It turns all front lights off

Do your lights come on automatically at night or is that disabled too?

under the DIC you can have the lights not come on when you unlock the suv etc i think there is a setting to disable auto head lights as well

or you can put a 3000k LED on the light sensor or resistor (the light sensor is just a resistor)


Daylight
= 5 KΩ
Dark
= 20 MΩ


you can always probe it before adding your own resistor
