I am to the point of walking away from GM vehicles altogether... I had an 02 Bonneville that was a nightmare with 2 engines then a transmission... and now a year into this yukon the past 5 months in have been fighting with reduced engine power intermittently however when it's humid or raining it's much worse. First I had a mismatch on the dual tps.. replaced the connector first.. then a tb and after that the throttle control module... still having issues and my patience is beyond gone at this point... I fear it's a harness issue as I have replaced all but the ecm at this point...

Looking for suggestions before I lose what's left of my sanity....

First of all making the assumption that it's above my knowledge level is a misconception on your part I am very capable of going in and re harnessing the engine if I have to however I am looking for simple suggestions of something that I might have overlooked in the process...

It's been intermittent Bilby weeks then it will go it'll be fine and then as soon as it either gets humid or it rains is when it starts having problems as I stated earlier and I came here in hopes to find a solution that I may have overlooked . But instead I get condescending posts and replies so nevermind I'll look elsewhere

Well you're talking about "walking away from GM vehicles altogether" and losing what's left of your sanity but then start complaining about a 15 year old Bonneville and a Yukon that's at least 10 years old and you've been fighting it for 5 months. I think the suggestion is a great one and on point. Sometimes it's well worth the minimal charge to pay a shop with the right diagnostic equipment to tell us what we need to do. He didn't suggest you pay them to fix it. I have a shop that charges $50 for an estimate/ diagnosis. Isn't that worth it?

Unless you want to step up to the tools the shops use like a Snap- On Solus that sells for $4000-$5000 then you might be better to pay to use someone's. Nobody was condescending but you don't make me, for one, want to help you. Feel free to move on.

Try catalytic Converters , fuel pump(do a fuel pressure test 1st) check your oil pressure, but if you have a CEL, take it to AutoZone to give you the code free, if its an "02 sensor downstream" code, its your cats.

Agree with the others. Don't come here asking for advice and then **** an attitude when your given some. If you can't figure it out, take it somewhere that can properly diagnose the problem and let you know exactly what parts will fix your problems. If you don't want to do that, keep wasting your money throwing parts at it that aren't solving your problem and stop asking questions on the forum.

With that said, to me it sounds like a MAF problem if it is doing it while the moisture in the air is high.

I'm stuck on the dual TPS?? Have I missed something??? That aside ... it's a enthusiast forum and near as I can tell ... the best way to tick people off is to proclaim that "this" choice sucks whatever "this" may be?? :)

Intermit "issues" are some of the worst problems to deal with. And those can happen to anything that has "moving parts and interrelated components" so ... pick your brand and there is somebody out there ... with the same issue. :)

Folks are "trying" to advise ... you to stop doing what your doing ... "change this change that" and hopefully the "issue" will go away??? Sometimes that work ... sometimes ... not so much???

For all you know ...one of the components, you've already replaced was a bad unit??? "Apparently" ... that can happen??? First hand recent experiance on that one, on my 951 with a bad pump with not one but two bad fuel pumps??? I refused to belive the newly installed fuel pressure gauge ... which refused to budge past zero??? Spent about a month trouble shooting everything! Till I got back to the fuel pump??? So yeah ... crap happens!

What you could do first is grab a DVOM and A Chilton or Haynes Manual or of course a factory manual and start to trouble shoot all the sensors and see it they are in spect?? "If" they all check out in spec and you still have issues ... then getting into a "Pro" would be the next option.

And if you are going to check the sensors and stuff, take a close look at the wires for the connectors for cracks and stuff. I'd used WD40 and silicon grease on everything you disconnect and reconnect.

And the TPS .. don't know about the dual thing?? But as I understand it on GM's there should be a yellow wire in there somewhere and that wires should always read 5 volts?? If it does not that points to the ECU. LLot's of work but it's a plan if checking sensors out first does not pin point an issue then perhaps another set of eyes, some dollars spent and a Snap Tool will??

Back to civility please gents. In previous experiences with humid/wet conditions it's always pointed me towards cap and rotor. Does this same symptom point to ignition module/coil packs?

^^^^^^^What he said. The first thought I had was ignition wiring.
Most of the folks on this and many other forums are very helpful, but we need a more exact description about type of engine, list of parts replaced and troubleshooting steps, instead of "everything except the cpm".

Patience goes a long way and I wouldn't compare a Bonneville to a yukon. It more than likely a loose connector in the harness. Start looking at these if dbw. I had a throttle body go bad on my 05 GTO when it was new so anything is possible.

There is an important ground for the pcm on the passenger rear of the engine. It corrode inside the jacket in and creates he'll. Give it a modest pull not a test of manhood and if it stretches or snaps as many do, cut back to clean wire, add fresh similar size wire, seal your joint and reattach to the engine. I bring it to the front where I can see it.
