My original key fob for my 2000 Suburban died years ago and I bought replacements on Ebay. Got them paired with the vehicle and they worked fine for a few more years.

One of them recently died and I ordered more from an Ebay vendor. They would not synch with the vehicle and I got a refund. Purchased another pair from a different vendor and they wouldn't synch, either. The remaining old one goes through the synch process just fine and works just fine. I'd just like to have a working spare.

Can anyone recommend a replacement key fob that actually works? I don't want to spend what GM wanted for them, they they're no longer available anyway. Don't care to spend $200 at the locksmith.

Thanks!

I got mine on eBay and they worked fine. Make sure the listing specifies it's for 2000-2002 models. The 03 and up fobs use a different frequency and won’t program. You want the one that has the actual words "lock" and "unlock" on the buttons. Not the icons.

The last ones I got stated they fit a 2000 - 2001 and had the labels on the buttons, but no luck.

Do you happen to have a record of who you bought them from?

I got a replacement fob from my local locksmith, and he synched it up for my truck. The total cost was 75$, and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes.

Thanks, slypher25aussie!

I'll give them a try. One thing that I noticed is that the ones that don't work have buttons on the circuit board, rather than the older carbon contacts.
