I have a 2001 tahoe 5.3 4wd. The trans is shot and looking for a replacement. I have friend with a donor yukon same body style, not sure of the year. Is it the same trans to swap?

You should have a 4l60e. What year is your buddy's, and what's his mileage? These transmissions--on the average--are good til around 150k. You're in Jersey?

It's and 02 or 03. It's got about 90k on it. I know it's fine and shifts smooth. Hes had the truck for a few years and I know it well. I just wasn't sure if there was a different variation in a yukon than a tahoe. I've seen GM do some silly things over the years. And yes I'm in north Jersey

Afaik you should be fine. When you can, post up both trucks rpos--just to be positive.
I'm originally from North Jersey myself, in central now.
