I have a 1999 Yukon 5.7. Can I disable the 4 wheel drive. I have a bad transfer.

Be more specific. Do you want to remove the transfer case,front axle housing or just don’t engage four wheel drive? But if you get a two wheel drive transmission yes or buy a two wheel drive out put shaft and tail housing and have it installed in your transmission.

My transfer case is bad and I don’t want to dump a lot of money into it. Can the front driveshaft be removed and be ok?

I think @Tonyrodz removed the front driveshaft of his nbs to clearance his headers, no ill effects as far as i know.
Yup. Only thing, so far is throwing codes. You can only see them if you have the proper scan tool. Other then that, it doesn't trip the check engine light.
