Tranmission issue, slipping?

Has anyone had issues with what I can only describe as a transmission slipping. I can count on one hand how many this times this has happened but after coming to a stop and trying to go again, I step on the gas and for a split second I go nowhere and I feel the slightest surge like the trasmission engaged and I'm off again like nothing happened. I cannot reproduce this and still have not found a solution to this issue. When it first happened about 5 years ago I thought my transmission was going out but 100k miles later everything has been pretty much fine. It has happened ony a handfull of times more. The surge is very slight and not even really noticable. the only reason I know and feel it is becuase I step on the gas pedal and the car doesn't move like it should.

Any ideas?

Does it happen when its Cold outside? transmissions need a certain temp to operate normally , when its colder outside and you don't warm your vehicle up you may notice for the first mile or so the trans seems very sluggish , on another note If your trans was slipping it would have failed by now . It might be your TQ converter not locking up properly , This could cause trans issues later down the road
