tpms/ switching tires question

So heres the deal, I have a set of rockstars with tires in my garage with no tpms sensors and theres a leak in one of my stock tires on the 04 denali. I was thinking about switching the set myself then going to discount tire to have them install the sensors when I have time to go up there. Will swapping my non tpms wheels with my tpms wheels make the tpms system freak out in my truck? I know at my work, costco, we arent allowed to work on cars if they have the blinking tpms light. (I already have the "service tpms" message)

That being said, how much should I expect to be charged to have them pull and switch the sensors into my aftermarket wheels?

I was quoted $75. Can't remember if it was per tire, or for all four, but I believe it was for all four.

If you've already got the service tire monitor message, shouldn't you find out what the problem is before you swap parts around? It could be a bad sensor and there would be no point in swapping a bad sensor into the wheels you want to put on the truck.

I agree with 91rs, probably would be best to get new sensors anyway. True enough that leak may cause the message, but I would rather have the ease and piece of mind of new sensors.

I bought a brand new set of sensors on eBay for $50 when I bought my LTZ wheels. They're around $70 each for new ones. You need the blue ones (part number 15136883) which are a little harder to come by, so they're a little more expensive. There is one guy selling a set of 4 right now for $130 though.

My bad, it was service ride control and check tire pressure.

We only service tires bought from the store if they were bought from anywhere else we're sol. Idk if that rule applies for getting replacement sensors though.
