Has anyone recently replaced? From my searches, it seems that OEM AC Delco is the way to go. Does anyone have other opinions? Where's the best place to purchase from?

Thanks

Just make sure that the MHZ frequency of the TPMS sensors you purchase match the MHZ frequency of your truck's receiver, as the MHZ frequency is not the same for all years.

Amazon is full of choices much cheaper. I won’t post a link to the ones I bought because only 3 out of 4 worked. But I bought a second set and returned it with the faulty one swapped in. PITA but I did save a bunch of money. If I really cared about TPMS as a safety feature I’d buy OEM. For me it was just the cheapest option to kill the idiot light.

The OE units that came in my truck in 2007, lasted a very long trouble free time.

I replaced them when I was getting tires a while back with non-OE (whatever the shop was installing at the time) and have had glitches a few times with a few of them (usually only relearning required). The next time I buy tires, I am going to get the Denso metal stem jobs installed all around. I suspect my TPMS servicing issues go back to the first 10 year profile.

The OEM ones last about 10 years. If you don’t care and have a tire shop that will replace them for cheap I guess you could get the cheap ones although ACDelcos aren’t too expensive so I don’t see the point in trying to save a few bucks.

Thanks guys. I truly don't care about trying to save money on these, I just want to make sure that the ones I end up getting last and aren't faulty so I'm running back to the shop. Mark did I see in one of the threads that you used AC Delco? If yes, best place to purchase from?

I buy my OE sensors off of ebay. Way less expensive than anywhere else I've looked. Try to get them still in the bags, I bought some take offs from a fleet of 2016s in 2017 and they are still working just fine. My logs show them to last about seven years in Yankee winters.

Yes I use ACDelco and I believe I got them off eBay but might have been Amazon. Be sure to read the reviews, especially the negative ones. I’ve seen some being sold that some buyers say only worked for a few months. I saw some buyers saying they looked used and weren’t in a sealed ACDelco bag like they’re supposed to be.

Call me a skeptic, but “AC Delco” and eBay really puts me off.

I guess we all face the possibility of buying knock offs through any channel, but rubber stemmed cheapie looking genuine AC Delco sensors, just seem ripe for China knock off status.

I went looking for the metal stemmed AC Delco sensors and a few sites said they were discontinued and the newer style rubber stemmed ones were all they sold. More worries...

Yep, have to be very diligent in separating the wheat from the chaff.

There are LOTS of knock-off AC Delco sensors on eBay. I ordered some and they were trash -- they didn't even last 1 season. Be very careful.

I think it is pretty universally regarded in the tire world that OE TPMS sensors are the only thing worth installing on any car/truck. Even OEM is not regarded very well.

On the other hand I had a very good experience with Titan TPMS sensors. They are a small, U.S. company, that are trying to make a dent in the aftermarket TPMS market with good products. One of their new sensors wasn't syncing to the Hoe; I called and instantly got customer service. They next-day mailed me out a programmer, and walked me through training the sensor (on a Saturday BTW). Everything has been perfect since. I think their customer service was one of the best I've ever had.

Out of curiosity, any idea what they use?

Another thing just crossed my mind......maybe someone actually knows, maybe it's just a can of worms. Let's say they last 8 years before the battery dies in at least one of them. When purchasing new stock, do manufacturers indicate when the 'batch' was made? I.E. if the 'batch' was made in 2016 but never used, you'd only have 3 years of use before they die.

They are shipped “asleep” so the batteries aren’t being used. They have to be spun at a certain RPM for a certain duration before they become activated. I found out about this when I bought 4 new ones tried the trick of putting them in a PVC tube with a valve stem in it and pressurized the tube. They wouldn’t learn because they hadn’t been woken up. I tried every method of trying to spin them fast enough to wake them up. You should have seen me with that tube tied to a rope, spinning it above my head. I think it might have been the orientation they were in, idk. But as soon as a tire store put them inside my wheels and spun them, they woke up.

You did not provide your truck's details, but on Rock Auto for my 07 Yukon XL Denali, it has AcDelco original equipment TPMS sensors for $43 each.

TPMS has been a real PITA on my'07 Tahoe.

I have paid too much for sensor replacements over the years.

What is a fair price for OEM sensor replacement?
