Tow hooks on 2023 Denali

I have done some more research but have not actually purchased the parts to verify. There is a front tie down bracket (GM part # 84680941) that is listed to fit 2021-24 Suburban/Yukon/Escalade vehicles. There is a front tow eye (GM part # 84452971) that is listed to fit 2021-2024 Escalade’s only. Not sure why the tow eye won’t work on a Suburban or Yukon or if it’s a description error.

The tie down bracket bolts to the driver side frame rail. The plastic cover is popped off and the tow eye screwed into the tie down bracket when needed.

I have a 2021 Yukon Denali 6.2L and recently was successful in prodding my local auto-shop to install a front receiver. They don't make one for 2021+ Yukon so I bought one for a 2021 Seirra 1500 6.2L and it fit well-enough. The driver's side frame was OK but the passenger side frame had a little metal bracket on the driver's side of the frame that interfered where the bolt would go thru the frame from what they said. Here's a pic of the driver side frame right up to the front grill..... that's the sierra 1500 front receiver you see up against the frame before welding in place of horizontal bolts.
As you can see, the horizontal bolt hole seems to be there - and this is where tow hooks would attach? On the passenger frame, there's a bracket blocking the hole apparently.

The auto-shop was hugely concerned about messing with the front / affecting the cameras + electronics but a receiver sticks out below the bumper so no issues - didn't need to remove or cut the front grill/bumper at all.

A front receiver might work in place of tow hooks for you if you can't do tow hooks.

My guess, it's worth a try? seems like a competent installer can take off whatever they need and just put it back if it didn't work? - that was my argument with auto-shop and they agreed they could put things back if they didn't modify anything

i bought the tow hook that the gm site said fit my 2024 gmc yukon xl slt. while it looks like it will fit in the frame it is about 3" too short to stick out through the bumper. it would have required cutting the plastiic bumper some, but it doesn't matter since it's too short. I'm thinking of ordering a couple of lengths of heavy Bar stock drilling them for the frame holes and putting a heavy shackle on it. Any thoughts?

Bolt in place with a few bolts. Now, I have a pull hook on the front. It would be very difficult to secure a strap onto the frame or axle if stuck if you don't have this...

Bob, before i was pointed to this thread i asked the same question in another thread. Just bought a 2025 Yukon Denali and cannot fathom not being able to be recovered from the front. Curious if you found a solution?

Winny, could you please confirm the part number for the tow eye you used? I purchased the bracket 84680941 and tow eye 84452971. However, the tow eye appears to be 1/8" too large.

I looked into this and have attached the exploded parts view and listing. Notice that there are variations on the part numbers based on the platform and specific RPO codes that your vehicle came with. VR6 appears to be the RPO code for the tow eye provision. Note that the tow eye itself is reverse thread. So it's installed by screwing in counterclockwise.

X88 = Chevrolet
Z88 = GMC
Z75 = Cadillac

I, too, have a '23 Denali. Where, exactly, should that protrude through the front fascia? From behind the same panel that

@BobHolthaus showed in an earlier pic? Or through the other panel?​

@KMeloney interestingly enough, it looks like there’s a provision for the tow eye just to the outside of that block heater access panel. However, it looks like it may not align with the frame rail, but to the outside of it. I’ll be able to confirm when I put the fascia back on.

@KMeloney Here you go. Looks like my assumption is backwards. The outside access panel is actually for the block heater. My guess is that it's a round plug coming from the engine that clips into place there.

This drawing kind of looks like an AT4 front end, but gives you an idea where the block heater cord mounts.

@KMeloney Finally got the front fascia back on. Toe eye bracket lines up perfectly. Do need to keep a plastic pry tool on hand for the cover.

Put the tow eye with bag next to the jack tools.
