Torque arm rear suspension

I was just looking through some old magazines I had lying around and saw an article for my other car and thought, hmm how would this set up work in my Tahoe.
What are your opinions about a torque arm rear suspension?

Does it make it fully independent with new axle?

This is a pretty involved design but you get the idea. It involves 2 links and a center arm that extends from the rear-end to a mounting point up by the tranny. It is mounted solid to the rear and pivots at the front mount. It also uses a panhard bar or watts link.

maybe loose 2-3 inches but only at the two axle end bottom links. Under the diffy maybe one inch it looks to be.

That is a well made and well known kit made by BMR. Here's a shot from behind. Its bad-asss to say the least. Watts = droooooool

One thing I have noticed no F-body cars is the t-arm is along side of the driveshaft. This is something that can be completely custom your specific vehicle. I know under my Hoe I have a ton of room. I'm going to get under it this weekend and take some measurements to see just how much room I have to play with.

It definitely looks worth the time and effort but what concerns me is all that crap hanging lower than the diff. Being that I'm looking to off- road/ lift I'm not sure something like that would benifit me. As for an f body there isn't much elsewhere for that to go lol.

Sun: going off the bolts on the cover that thing hangs 3-4" lower.

Yeah I see that now. the view was blocked in the other picture. Thought the center link ended before reaching the diffy cover.

I brought this up because I was thinking about my DDer and thought it would work well with my Hoe. Since we have very few options for a performance based suspension, I thought this would be a good option. Especially since fabricaton wise, it is very simple.

There is a guy onperfromancetrucks that has a green 454 Suburban lowered with off road long bars, those work well, similar to the caltracs just have to be creative with the mounting locations ...

Someone on Ptrucks built long bars for pickups. They looked good to.

This is just an alternative suspension set up for the Hoe that I thought about. Something different a little less involved than a 3 or 4-link and seems to be a lot easier to fab compared to the like. It eliminates the leafs and gives you the option to run either coil-overs or shockwaves or any other type of bag. You can use either a PH bar or a watts link.
I'm just thinking out of the box. My end goal is to have a truck that will handle well. If its the last thing I do, hahahahahaha.

Ok. What are your opinions are on a truck arm set up?
They were used on the old C10s and Nascar has used them for years.
Hot Rods To Hell makes a kit that is available for our trucks. Actually, they are the only company that has any aftermarket rear suspension set up for our trucks. It is not bolt on but weld in.

Looking back into Truck Arms.
I found a 2dr 2wd Tahoe with them, trying to get some info from him. His Tahoe is nuts. He has a video at some hot rod event going through an AutoX course, suckers movin in his Hoe.
Coil-over suspension all around.
