Tinting rear side windows on '11 Burb

Hello-
Noobie here. I'm sorry if this post is in the wrong place, but I didn't know where is the best place for a question like this.

I just picked up a loaded up 2011 LT Suburban. I would like to tint the long back windows by the cargo area, but I see that the passenger side window has some sort of antena printed on the inside of it.

Will tinting this window screw up my radio reception?

No it will not screw up your reception if the tint you use is a non-metallic tint. So basically a tint with no meta in it like a ceramic tint.
As you can tell in my pic my truck is real darkly tinted and may reception is fine.

Cuz that'd be a HUGE blind spot back there if it was all fogged up... Why would you have a long antenna in both rear windows?? That wouldn't make much sense to me. Now I'm very curious to find someone who knows 100% for sure

Ah i wasnt aware it was on both sides...i havent had mine in the winter yet so i never saw if the defrost works on those windows.

Its an antenna IMO, only one side has it, the hook up is different then the back defroster.

Lol no just passenger side. I didn't even notice until someone riding in the back asked me about it.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. I guess I'll tint them and see, but it sounds like it's a non-issue.

For those of us wondering WHAT function it serves, I guess we could pop off the wire that goes to the connector on the window and see what it affects.

I do not have experience with this but I have heard that many people have had trouble seeing out of the back windows when tinted darker

Maybe the OP could just put up a bunch of aluminum foil on the rear windows to enhance reception!

It is amazing how quickly topics can go from one thing to completely another on here We went from tinting the back windows to aluminum foil hats Oh Dear!

Anywho, I am just confirming two things. One, it should not be a problem saxart. Two, the rear passenger window has the AM/FM antenna built in. They wanted to eliminate that "wind catcher of a pole" everyone else has by adding it into the rear window.

And, you guys really have that many blind spots? Do you have your side mirrors turned so you can see yourself in them? I find that I can see fairly well in my Tahoe. Now, my friends Traverse on the other hand...
