These tinted windshield pics are really making me want to do mine. My windshield does have one rock chip, about .5cm across. Will this prevent them from tinting it?

I don't see a problem but why spend the money on tint if that chip one day cracks...
No glass on the insurance?

Have you tried to repair it? The tint shop in my area can repair smaller size cracks/chips. I'd definitely look into repairing or replacing before spending money on getting it tinted.

I don't have HUD but he can test it by just putting small piece for a couple of days. 90% is nothing... should be ok.

No HUD here, sorry I can't be of more help.

My tint installer didn't even ask, and they are a very reputable shop, which leaves me to believe it wouldn't have messed with it.

I've got a '16 Tahoe LTZ with the HUD option. I had 45% tint on my front windshield (got it done the day after I purchased the truck in June) and the tint had absolutely no effect whatsoever on the HUD. I also had limo tint all the way around so it was DARK. The local county police here in Maryland stopped me and issued a repair order to get it peeled. I ended up peeling the windshield and the front two doors and I had the doors redone in 30% and left the windshield untinted.

FWIW the tinted windshield was visually appealing when looking at my truck from the outside but I always felt like the view through the glass from the inside was distorted. I'll probably get a 5% strip across the top of the front windshield and call it good...

Do they give you an option to just pay the fine? We can peeled or pay.
I got pull over before... i just tell them rear is very dark because of tools or my DJ gear. Plus a PBA helps...

I was not given the option to pay the fine and to be honest I wasn't forward thinking enough to think to say "just give me a ticket". I was too busy arguing with the cop over the fact that he said my license plate frame was illegal because the word MARYLAND was covered by the frame at the top of the plate.

I got a repair order for that too...

I have 50% tint on windshield and love it, to me doesn't seem like any change in vision. want to go 35% but scared of po po noticing it.

Looks good man... I have 17% all the way around and 35% on my windshield 2016 denali... I wanted 17% on my windshield but they tint shop didn't have any film long enough to fit the windshield less than 35%. So I had to settle which sucks. I had 15% on my windshield on my civic and loved it. I think I'm going tint my tail lights next. Terrible pic I'll try and grab a better one

How does the 17% match up with rear windows? Everyone around here does 20%, and claim that it matches factory. I see it as a shade too light. One shop has 18% but they say it will be darker than factory rear windows.

Can you post some pics of the side?

I had double 15% all around, and 35% on the windshield. Was a touch dark at night, but I got use to it. New to me denali is like 35% all around and no windshield, and this thread has me wanting to go back to blacked out BAD!

Anyone else have this new Law? As of January 1st, 2017 in order to pass inspection in NY. Suck!! They just wanted money out any stupid thing...
They should just say. You will get a ticket if you don't Roll down your window when pull over.

Window tint is a must!.. Other wise you're driving in a fish bowl... Looks good.. Also, I like the free advertisement from the Long I 516! hahah..
