Something new noticed tday.
While doing errands this morning, I happened to start my Yukon while in front of a bunch of glass.

Noticed:
Key on, no head lights.
Turn over / Start engine, no head lights.
Engine running, have head lights.

At night, lights come on as soon as I rotate key.

Still gonna do relay hanging off starter solenoid coil wire.

Daytime it's the DRL's after you're running, night time it's the auto headlights.

Inability to see corners is why I have my ditch lights pointed 45 to the sides. Can't (shouldn't) use them on the street though.

Thinking about little police lights on the sides of my pushbumper, if that is legal for street and if they provide enough light to help...

kept low with a good cut off and only come on with the turn signals, or a toggle switch when off road. I don't see why anyone would even notice them.

As mentioned by @Doubeleive the headlights work just like a motorcycle headlight. They come on with the key (if dark enough outside) and then turn off while cranking, and then back on. This is standard except on PPVs.

As for time latched relays, I used a DEI 611T to repurpose my non-functional heated wiper fluid button (disabled by factory recall) to control a light bar originally. Now it has been repurposed again to control the train horns.

This should give you an idea of the functionality of it.
