There are these closed slots in the front bumper

... just above the license plate. It looks like they are closed-off vents?
I’d use the search feature, but I don’t know what they are called. I did a google images search, and it seems like some are opened, and some, like mine, are closed.
Curious as to what they are and why they’d be closed off.

I always just figured it was for looks. My 06 Z has black panels in there.

I don’t know what function they would perform. It’s so low and small that it would be beyond minimal at that. Pretty sure just for appearance. None of them left the factory with the pieces removed, would have been up to the owner to remove.

I removed mine and installed a small billet grill over the slots to match my upper billet grill. The holes do go all the way through the bumper, so you will get more air flow but not much.
