There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

Well, today was the day for the 2014 Grand Cherokee 3.6 Penstar oil cooler/filter housing oil leak repair. Took a total of 4.5 hours, including the throttle body cleaning. Next weekend is the 08 4Runner d/s axle shaft and entire front brakes.

Got the new Ford crate engine on the engine stand and the old engine out of the 2006 F150, my neighbor's truck. Doing a reman transmission and a Ford crate engine. Started swapping over whatever did not come on the new engine. Ford supplied cam and crank sensor and gaskets/seals and oil filter.

I need to be clear about this engine swap. This is all being done at my friend's shop, in Junction City, Oregon. I do not do engine swaps at my home. My neighbor is paying him and I am showing up to help it all along. I am compensated by my neighbor and my friend. I was recently looking to go back to work as a service advisor but turned down two quick offers and decided I just want to help at this shop on a part time basis and turn wrenches sometimes and run errands and write some service.

More progress today on the 2006 F150 engine/transmission work. Did the front diff fluid today too. The engine mounts attach to a plate and the plates bolt in at 3 points. They were cruddy and rusty so I cleaned both of them and painted black. chased all 4 exhaust studs for the Y pipe. mounted both motor mount assemblies and also checked the exhaust manifold for flat mount at heads and then cleaned them for the fresh exhaust gaskets. mounted and torqued to spec and prepped for dropping in the engine bay. Dropped the engine and went home.
