Hello,

I am trying to tap this portable head unit with integrated dash cam into my fuse box so as to not drain power from the battery when the truck is off. The issue is, when I hooked up the multimeter to the fuse box on the driver's side, I couldn't find a good fuse to tap into safely. I was hoping that I could use either the cigarette lighter fuse, or the auxiliary power fuse, but when testing, both of those got 12 volts when the truck was off. Any recommendations on the best fuse to use?

You can make the fuses keyed power only by moving the top pink 50 amp fuse to the alternate position. i believe it is in the manual.

Use fuse 26 on the passenger side fuse box. I had to use a Micro3 fuse tap (it also needed to be modified to fit in the slot) which isn't as easy to get hold.

Not an option on the GMT900 as far as I know.

What about the upfitter box (MBEC) in the driver footwell? It provides fused battery power and ignition/run signal as far as I know. Be aware of the load limits of each circuit, the run pin can only provide a couple hundred milliamps.

there is a 10A run/crank feed. The RAP is 300 milliamps.
