Loving how the build is going so far. F bodies were my 1st love. GTA an 89? I had 2 89 350 Formulas back in the day.
It is an '89. It was my first major project. I bought it from the original owner after it had been totalled and went through a few donor cars to rebuild it. It sat wrecked in storage while I was in college, and the actual work took about 4 years I think. We've had quite the rodent problem since the drought broke, and it's always had a parasitic power issue*, so I have a whole new set of things to repair on it once the Z71 is legal and the weekends have good weather.

* Thanks again to ScottyBoy for mentioning the Power Probe, I'm hoping that will finally fix the GTA's battery drain issue!

Here are some photos of the GTA for Tony. All the build photos were taken with 35mm, and I never scanned them.

So in the last few weeks, the fuel filter crapped out; I replaced the Schrader valves, accumulator, pulley and belt, and orifice tube for the A/C; and the water pump had to be replaced.

I made some progress on the interior, replacing the dash with a dark graphite one from an 03+ silverado, and a few door handles and door panels.

Next weekend's project will be replacing the shocks with bilstein 4600s and working out a seat upgrade from 6-way to 8-way power.

Hilarious first accounts of your acquisition from the auction pick up, to the lost spare tire, etc... Should be a fun project and progress already in motion. Way to revive what will be a good looking Z71 NBS.

Some catch up photos....
We pulled the rear gray carpet from the donor truck and I cleaned it for about 2 hours and finally gave up. Here's the result.

While removing the knee bolster on the donor, we found an odd little device. Turns out it was a GPS tracker installed by one of those we finance anyone car sales lots.

And before installing the rear carpet, we laid sound deadener/heat shield. (Frost King insulation from Lowe's.)

Two weeks ago I hit a local salvage yard and pulled some good leather and gray plastic from an '05 Tahoe, and a dash from an '03+ Silverado.20180414_154447_640x480.jpg 20180414_160822_640x480.jpg 20180415_121656_640x480.jpg
