Suspension Lift recommendations???

I am looking to lift my 09 Chevy Tahoe SSV 4x4. Is there a "Go To" lift for these GMT900 SUV's? I'd like to go with a 4" or 6". Not really sure exactly yet, I do have a pic of what I would like mine to look like. I guess I just want to know what is best to do. Thank you

There's really no go to, this is what's best lift. What's best depends on you're budget goals and intended use. Some people a simple spacer lift so they can clear bigger tires for looks is good enough. that's one of the cheapest routes to take. That method is usually one of the most incomplete ways to lift and majority of spacer lifts will give bad ball joint tierod and cv angles causing parts to wear out quickly. Bracket lifts are typically more complete and will give you better angles so parts will last longer some are better than others tho.

BDS lifts seem to make a high quality kit. Buy once cry once….but all depends on your budget and what you want to accomplish in the long run.

Here's my setup:
Icon 2.5 Coil overs set at 2.5" lift front (71505)
Icon 2.0 rear shocks (76526)
Cognito Upper Control Arms
Dobinson 2" lift rear springs (C09-045)

The Silverado is a rc 7.5” stretched to 8” and the Tahoe has a fabtech 6” stretched to 8” as you can see all the angles on the Tahoe are still great and rides great the Silverado is maxed out on the alignment cams and is just enough to get alignment straight long story short sometimes it’s better to buy a better lift to achieve a better ride and better angles on your front suspension

I'm into extreme off roaming but with a Can am and pro drag racing so I mess with chassis. Bought the Tahoe several weeks ago, killed e bay but as of tonight everything is inbound. Building another beach truck. You can spend a ton of money , or as little as 550 dollars like I did. Soon as it gets here its installed. 3.5 and 3 rear is all I need. Unless your going to take it in the deep mud or on outlaw trails 3 to 4 inchs is all that is needed. Maybe not wanted,, LOL but that will get you anywhere the rest of the Tahoe will go without spending a ton of money.

That picture below is the best looking Tahoe on the forum for anyone and 99% could ask for. Hers is 3.5 and 3.
Remember the more you go up the slower you have to take turns and the less you actually have control of your unit if something happens and even if its not your fault. . Units is what we call anything that fits on a car hauler. Cars trucks all of them are units.

That gives you your spacers front and rear. New shocks, and the upper control arm in the front so the bind is not there.

I did a google search lucked out I got that A arm for 249. His price was the only low price on the web. He moved it up after I won that one.
So 550 seems to be the cheapest with a safe angle you can go.
Next up the 4 inch I believe is in the 800 to 900 dollar range.
Going from a 31 to a 34 inch tire I gain another inch or so that is 4.5 up front and 4 rear.
Good luck in your choices. Unless you are taking the Tahoe off roading places most have never been think about that height issue before pulling the trigger. Later.

How about just going 3" on the front and 2" on the Back? This is what I'm thinking about for my 06' Denali XL.

What would you concider the Best and cheapest lift of 3" in Front and 2" in rear. This is for my 06' Denali XL. Just for looks and don't plan any off-roading. Thank You. Phil

I have not done any research on your year models know they have the bars but this kit on e bay with the shocks looks good.
Don't get me wrong I love the 5+ look I"m a car guy, just love seeing what others come up with and custom build but its more than I need.
I"m old. 65. LOL I don't need the coolest truck any more just one thats really functional . On the beach top speed is 15 mph. We roll 25 beach cops don't say anything but hit 30 your theirs. I don't need all that high end stuff although most of the trucks out there compete for looks. I didn't want to put any parts under stress so I bought the A arm.
Reason I say shocks is thats how I lifted the Tacoma I had. Drove really good way better than it did before I changed them. Bilston.

BDS lifts are good quality, had one on my 04 Silvy. Zone Lifts are basically a BDS lift just a lower cost.

Get a set of fox or icon coil overs and some good upper control arms it’ll give you 2-3.5” of adjustability in the front the control arms will make it ride better and handle better over bumpy roads I hit doubled up railroad tracks going 75-80 driving with my knee you still feel the bump but the handling characteristics over stock suspension is night and day

I thought the only difference in the ppv suspension was lower springs in the rear and “lower” struts up front but I may be wrong I went from nose diving hard to leveled I had to crank em down a bit type way cause I diddnt have anything changed in the rear
