No not looking for miliage lol. It’s a truck. I have a tuned 6.0 taho. It’s a great truck but too lite duty for towing 10,000lbs. But it gets 8mpg when I tow. Not great but not bad. If I could get 10-12 mpg towing I would be ok with that. And I will look that guy up. Thanks. All info is appreciated

Milage/ fuel economy is not its strong point. Average 12 mpg with a tail wind. 6.0 is not much better on gas. If you want fuel economy; get a Prius. If you want to tow and don't want to become a diesel guy, 8.1 big block is the way to go. Edward Cross has a Facebook group for the 8.1 and he is the go to guy for anything 8.1 related.
Which Edward cross ? There is a lot ! Sorry

I didn’t get a picture of it sadly but I saw the ultimate NBS unicorn yesterday: 2500 Avalanche! Since I’ve moved to NH I’ve noticed a lot more 2500 Burbs up this way but this 2500 Avey is the first I’ve seen!
There’s a guy with a 2006 2500 avalanche here in big bear where I live and it has all the Z71 cladding. Cool truck and he’s a road side assistance type deal. See it around town all the time. Lol

14mpg isn’t terrible w/ 6.0L and 4L80 tranny. What rear gear ratio are you sporting? 3.73? 4.10? Was 4.10 even available with this power train combo?
3.73. Is a 4.10 better for MPG?

Noooooooooo 3.73 is longer and better for turning lower RPMs at cruising which translates to better fuel economy. 4.10s are better for quicker acceleration off the line...
My express van with the 4.8 has 4.10 gears and the mom's are terrible. Granted I do carry alot of weight.

Morning Gents,

Someone on facebook 3/4 ton group pointed out my high oil pressure. Shamefully, I never noticed it. This is sitting idle. It is almost 80PSI when throttled down.

Normal for a 170K 6.0L?

Something to worry about?

Thanks,

Is it extremely cold or are you running thick oil? I see coolant is up to temp, but the transmission isn't, so I'm assuming the oil isn't either.

When cold, my idle oil pressure is ~55psi. It drops to 45psi when hot, after 25 minutes of driving. I have Quaker State 5W-30 synthetic blend in mine

Neither. Was 58degrees and I run Mobil one 5w30

I don't always venture out into the sub-freezing darkness, but when I do, it is hunting season, and I carry a Remington. Stay hungry my friends.
