Great trucks. Transmissions are the 4L80 - it’s good-ish. Known issues but it is what it is.

I had one I bought at 250k miles and drive it till 287k then it’s died but it lived a HARD life.

My gmt900 is a 3/4 ton, 6.0 with the 6 speed. Great for towing, hauling, what have you. It’s not a honda with gas, I’m happy with 17 on the highway, maybe 13 around town. 4th burb in my family and they have all been dependable and easy to work on. Have you found a 2500 that you’re considering?

My 2004 sburban is getting so rusted cant deal with doing more work. I need somthing different.

2001 with 200k on 6.0l no rust have to drive 3-4 hours to look. Trying to get educated on 2500 trucks faults

Biggest thing I know about is the trans (can search issues in here) and the driver seat module (if power seats) can go bad. It’s a super easy fix.
