Jus purchased a yukon denali xl with a bad transfer case. To fix the problem i went out and found a transfer case from a 02 yukon denali. I was told that the 2 cases were the same. It turns out that the replacement is about an inch and a half longer than the original which keeps the drive shaft from bolting back up. My ? to all is can i keep this case in place and get the driveshaft cut or replace with an aluminum one or continue my search for a direct bolt in?

Maybe I'm just platform stupid on this one But i would imagine if the cases are in fact different i would not Hack to gather a system that might mechanically work but once you drive it cause a TON of issues do the male and female Plugs match?
