most likely the powersteering pressure hose, very common on these trucks.
all you need is a 18mm crowfoot, extension and ratchet for the steering box side (18mm wrench works too), and 16mm wrench for the back of the resovoir.
double check the clamps on the return hose at the same time.
re-fill with powersteering fluid or ATF

Yeah. Just wipe the hose down with a rag, start up the truck and turn the steering wheel, hose should be covered in fluid again. It's an easy fix, just go to Kragen and pick up a new hose, it's around $14 IIRC.

Sounds like the problem I currently have. And yes.... it does spray everywhere. I think that's partially due to the fact that power steering fluid is rather thin, so a small amount can cover a large surface.

Darn it. Just noticed this is an old thread.

Good job. Its any easy fix. I spent under $20 at Advance Auto to fix this. $14.59 for the Power Steering Pressure Hose and $2.99 for a bottle of their fluid. The nut on the back of the housing is easiest reached from under the vehicle. Remove your skid plate for better access if you have one.

unknown at this time.
Yes a pinhole leak will piss over everything and I can tell you right now if you do not wash down the whole compartment after repairing that pissed PS fluid will ruin a lot of rubber parts among others things real fast.

I'm in the middle of replacing this, got the old one off without a problem, but putting the new one on, I cannot get the nut to screw into the hole on the reservoir, feels like the threads catch then it just turns freely again. I also tried to put the old one back on and have the same problem. Any suggestions?

Keep trying, Move the fitting around a bit as you push and try to thread it in. Its a pain. make sure the o-rings are on the pump side of the line.

Ok I finally got it, now on the top side, I have no problem getting it started but when it's about halfway in it just stops, can't turn it anymore.
