Going to give it a little flush with clean fluid, then refill. Obviously never been changed. it's 28k over on its service interval.
I may have missed it, but how many mile do you have on it?

Damn, $250 for a GP100? I was happy to get my 6 inch stainless GP for $700 brand new.

Yeah man, 6" stainless, rose grips. the guy I bought it from didn't like it. he had the original box of ammo that he bought with it, only 6 bullets missing. he said 250$, 10min later we were doing the transfer at an FFL.

@Jon Chimpo I want to follow the progress on your ride, and its restoration, but I want to preserve all the work you did writing up the sludge removal in that engine.

Could one of the moderators (@yates ™ , @goodinblack ) split this thread with your permission, and save it as a sticky so we can keep it easily visible for others?

Good work man, nothing like a job well done, and bringing something back from the brink of death.

By all means, if this helps others I'm all for it. Sticky away! I have a good feeling about this motor being okay. Sure it's not a great thing to let your engine go with no maintenance, but its the hand I was dealt.

Those fins don't look as deep as others. wouldn't more surface area in contact with moving air result in better heat dissipating?

Others might cool a lil better like you said but I've got this pan and the factory trans cooler and it runs slightly lower then when I had the stock pan on there

Derale makes a deep pan with drain plug, sensor location and it has tubes that go through it for airflow /cooling.
