I'd sure like to see all of the current, pending, and history codes that a capable scanner shows when the Stabilitrak is indicated as disabled.

I was able to engage the 4x4 with the code reader I was using. The switch as well, was tested and all positions are working.did you see my last message? 4x4 not working is a big one, stabiltrac is a symptom not a cause
and for instance if the 4x4 status is unknown that would probably be a reason for no autostart as well as stabiltrac off
The light itself come on when Stabilitrak is off. There is no code in the scanner for anything. It is possible he has none, since his scanner says the light should be off.
And looking at an OTC encore, it looks like an expensive(capable) scanner...
Stabilitrak will shut off the 4x4 and the command start because it is all tied together from what I have researched. When the stabilitrak is off, it shuts those off.stabiltrac should not affect 4x4 it should be the other way around, but i am part idiot so.....
I’ll check the cluster. That is interesting. The diagnostic link mentioned checking both the switches and the cluster.
But @bourgey19 already checked the switches.
BUT, now that I look at that link more, it's for when the indicator lamp is malfunctioning, and may not cover all stabilitrak errors..
(Assuming there should be some code perhaps?)
@bourgey19, I don't think it's the steering or yaw sensor because then you should get the 'stabilitrak disabled' warning..
Since you don't get that warning..
I don't know if a bad cluster can cause 4WD to stop working or not...
But a code reader saying the light is off when it's actually on...
Truck can run with cluster unplugged, so that's another way to test if it's a cluster issue..
Right Doubelieve, I also seem to remember someone not having remote start due to a bad transfercase control module?
Like the computer doesn't know if you're in high or low or something like that.. But I can't remember if they had codes or stabilitrak light on (don't think so)
Well, I think I figured the issue. I’ll know when the shocks come in. I ordered shocks for the Yukon. Apparently there is a difference between the sle and slt rear shock. sLT has a magnetic leveller in the shock. The store sent the shocks to the SLE. Hope the new shocks work. I’ll let everyone know.I was able to engage the 4x4 with the code reader I was using. The switch as well, was tested and all positions are working.

The 2013 Yukon does not have 4 Lo and Hi. It is 2wd,auto,4wd. No I wasn’t just going through the motions and Yes, I had a person stand under the vehicle as it was on the hoist and engaged all the components for 4x4. He is a mechanic. He knew what to listen for. I have done a pile of reading on the stabilitrak and it basically ties to just about every component on the vehicle. I have been dealing with this for 4 weeks now and have done a lot of trial and error based on discussion points and reading possibilities. Shocks are the current focus because before I changed the shocks, stabilitrak worked. After I installed the shocks it did not work. That’s when I started on the sensors and went through everything. I assumed I received the proper shocks for the vehicle. Someone today, who is another mechanic friend, asked about the shocks. Then I read about them and the wrong shock will affect the stabilitrak. Just do a search on “will the wrong shocks affect stabilitrak on a 2013 Yukon SLT.” Then I read the information on the shocks I was given by the parts place and they gave me shocks for an SLE, not the SLT model.sorry but i am not convinced, it is highly unlikely stabiltrac is disabling 4x4, and 1000% more likely the other way around.
when you say you tested the 4x4 positions with the scanner, were you just going thru the motions with the scanner or did you hear them engage and drive each to confirm operation.
encoder motor issue's are common
also you never answered if stabilitrac is off with engine on only or goes off when placed in drive.
the only exception with 4x4 and stabiltrac off is when 4lo is engaged, stabiltrac is automatically turned off
StabiliTrak will automatically turn back on once you shift out of 4LO and back into 4HI or 2HI. If the light stays on while not in 4LO, it indicates a fault in the system.
Ya I didn't consider the transfer case is not the same as on my pickup and my yukon is AWD.The 2013 Yukon does not have 4 Lo and Hi. It is 2wd,auto,4wd. I threw them away when I did then. Was going to do the same thing.if you still have the old shocks floating around you could slap them on to verify, easy enough
So does it just have the rear auto level air shocks?I threw them away when I did then. Was going to do the same thing.
Ya, just the rear.So does it just have the rear auto level air shocks?
rpo code Z55?Ya, just the rear.
