Spare tire!

Has anyone tried to put something other than the factory spare under thier car? I have an extra 24 inch esky rep and would like to put it there but I'm not sure if the cable can handle the extra weight or width.

I think someone tried before, and the chrome was all messed up from dirt and debri and it hung way down since it was a lot wider.

That's what I was wondering too. It there would be an issue with the chrome, not only that, if the face of the wheel faces Down I would imagine it would get scratches Bc I have to slide it under there. Guess ill just leave it at home.

I definitely would not mount a chrome whe of any value under there. You're just going to ruin it.

Yep that's a bad idea. Not only will it scratch up but if you live in Yankee land the salt and snow will make a big expensive mess. I would keep a stock down there because if it pops hen your kinda screwed atleast a stock wheel can get ya home. I don't have a spare in my 2dr but gotta put one on after I get the basket made
