This evening my wife sent me a txt. I received the notification via my Bluetooth connection with my iPhone. Just for giggles I touched the message icon on the Tahoe. Bam! I can replay, while driving, with the visible messages, and any in the list while stopped. I’m not sure if Apple or GM gets the credit, but I happy about it.

That looks like GM. I have a Pioneer with wireless Apple CarPlay and it reads text messages and responds via voice-to-text using Siri.

That was my method before the change.

The difference now is that there’s a few aftermarket HU’s that use wireless CarPlay so you can keep your phone in your pocket. GM doesn’t offer it yet- there’s very few cars that do and they’re mostly European. They use WiFi for data transfer instead of Bluetooth due to its bandwidth limitations. I hated plugging my phone in every time in order to use CarPlay.

I refuse to use CarPlay unless I want to see Waze. Otherwise, I can do everything else I need. Wireless charging is the bomb too.
