Please point me to the discussion if this has already been discussed. 2007 Tahoe LTZ. I have an issue where sporadically either the passenger side mirror or drivers side mirror will not fold in. One will, but not the other.

Now I’ve replaced long ago the inside mirror motors with a third party product by Gruven (http://www.gruvenparts.com/). This provides a metal gear that won’t wear out after folding in the mirrors once or twice. It also converts the mirror motor to a self grounding motor. These work great and after years of use still retract the mirror and push it back out. However, occasionally as I mentioned above, when I retract them, one or the other will not fold in. Doesn’t seem to be consistent, like it’s a wire that is loose or semi broken or something.

Anyone have ideas? Thanks in advance!

I would inspect your switch on the drivers door. I know, it is supposed to move them together with one button, but maybe there is a connector corrosion/failure on the switch.

Thanks LsHart. I did find that when one of the mirrors doesn’t retract, I I open close that door (driver or passenger) and hit the retract again, it works. That seems to confirm it has something to do with the door switches.
