ok i kno this might be crazy but i was wondering if anyone here has did anything with the neck shifter because i tried to put an aftermarket shift knob on the end of it but was to big i was thinking about cutting it alittle and sanding it down alittle if anyon has done this i would like to know how thanks

have come across a few in the past that have had a billet straight shifter on the column.

i was thinking about cutting it alittle and sanding it down alittle if anyon has done this i would like to know how thanks

The inner portion is steel, I cut the outer plastic part off the end for a different knob if you still want to go that route.

It's no longer an auto but I still have the handle if a pic will help. IIRC the very end has a rubber cover that slides off. I just took a hacksaw blade and cut slowly all the way around till I hit metal and cleaned up the plastic edge with a grinder. Eyeballin' it looks to be about 3/8" in diameter. If you have a tap and die set it could be threaded but I just drilled the hole a little small for a press fit.

Yeah just pull the boot back and there's a single (T40?) Torx bolt holding it to the shifter mechanism. Be careful with the boot they are pretty fragile and mine had a small tear in it before I started.

ok thanks man ill try it is that a special shift knob or can i just get one for a manual trans
