2007 Tahoe LT issue with my 4 wheel drive shown on dash. Could possibly cause this issue? Maybe a failed switch for 4WD or a bad actuator ECT....? Would enjoy to read others thoughts on the
matter.

need to scan it for codes. might need a scanner that can do abs, srs as well as p codes. cheap scanners just cover them P codes. but if the cel is lit you've got a code to start diaging things if its related.

It could be that one of your speed sensors on the wheel hubs may have gone bad. As stated above, the use of a bi-directional scanner will help you pinpoint the source of the issue.

Did the GMT 900 have the AutoTrac NP 246 T-Case?

My 04 project suburban had that message when I bought it. It was stuck in 2wd.

I checked fuses and grounds, all good. The TC actuator wires were severed (maybe they got cought in the driveshaft?) Spliced them but still no go.

It turned out to the encoder motor range sensor (black wheel is the sensor, goes under the large gear with the holes.) $20 shipped from RockAuto. I tested the old one and resistance was erratic while turning the wheel, not linear. Problem solved.
