I would love to switch this MagSafe base for one that charges but would want any charger cable to be hidden. Is there an easy way to run one here from a fuse block or otherwise?

I believe it’s empty behind that vent and I think your fuse panel is either by your foot well or on the end of the dash. You’d need a hole through the dash though. Otherwise you can snake a cable in the crevasse.

Thanks! Is there any chance the small fake (?) vent immediately above the ac vent is open?

If I were an idiot (I am), is this going to necessitate removing dash and/or trim pieces?

As far as connecting into the fuse box, is there a guide for that?

Really some of the best tutorials are YouTube videos. You can probably find one for exactly what you’re doing but definitely connecting to a fuse spot. You might have to remove some trim pieces but not the dash. Grab some plastic trim tools and watch a few videos.

open the drivers door, remove the fuse cover panel on the left side of dash, install a fuse tap, snake the wire up in the crevice of the dash & drivers pillar, remove pillar if necessary.
put the pillar cover back on, put the fuse panel cover back on.
go about your merry business.
any auto parts store sells fuse taps... or amazon, ebay, walmart, yada yada...

Super helpful, and thanks!

Planning on getting this tap and tapping into Fuse 33 on the driver side, which is a seat heater circuit (and uses switched power), putting a USB-C charger port in the cigarette lighter end, and snaking a USB-C cable up to that area however makes the most sense.

getting a tap is best, unless you like cables dangling, I have been cable free for a LONG time, so much nicer and easy to do
