anyone know why my rpm's are jumping down then up while going down the road? it has done this in the past but stopped, acts like it starves for fuel for a split second. ill try changing the fuel filter again. just changed it out couple months ago but i put awhole lot of miles on it since then.

Are you shure you don't have a random igntion dropoff as well or your pump is cutting out on you? Maybe wait until it gets really out of hand and throw a fuel pressure tester on it. if it is not happening continously at this point I would not bother with a filter right now. I would give you ignition parts a visual inspection first.

Had same problem last week. Let me guess it has been up and down temperatures where you live the last week or so??? Buy some carb cleaner for $3 and spray it in your throttle body. Take an old tooth brush and clean it out. You will have better throttle response than you have ever felt. Mine was pretty black from all the build up and the condensation freezing and thawing all the time.

You sould have seen mine. I am in the middle of the fuel injector upgrade and I have been on the upper manifold with soaps, scrapers, solvent cleaner just to get it clean. I had some serious crust on that damn thing. Still not happy with it but it will have to do.

The throttle body was dirty, looked like thick tar. Cleaned that and Maf sensor. So far (100 miles) it hasn't done it.

That's the spirit!!

Could be LOTS of things, bad plugs, bad plug wires, dirty this or that, tranny tcc issue, etc, etc.

Are you having any other wierd things happening electrically with the Hoe? The reason I ask is that an alternator going bad can have a similar behavior but normally it also affects other areas at the same time. One time I had an alternator going bad and before I replaced it if I pushed the lock/unlock button on the door the speedo would peg and then go back down. Once replaced issues went away.
