I’ve been looking for a catch can that will work with my supercharger and I’ve looked at the Elite Engineering a couple times but always stopped when I added up the price, over $400. But I might just do it. But first I sent them an email to see if they’ll do it in red anodized since they make one for a Camaro in red but not a truck. It comes with braided lines, an fittings and a clean side separator that screws on in place of the oil fill cap.

How are your pads that’s you pulled? Clips all intact? I may be interested in them if they’re in good shape and you’re willing to part with them?

I posted them in the classifieds. I plan on putting them on Ebay also if they don't sell here. They're pretty decent, not perfect for sure.

That is so much money for something you could spend 10% on and it does the same thing.

Not really. With the blower there’s too much pressure in the intake for a regular catch can, at least that’s what I’ve been told. There’s only a few that are made for what I have, they need to have check valves and a clean side separator. Show me one for 10% of that cost that’s guaranteed to work with my setup. Besides, I like expensive shit on my truck. It looks and works great. :patriot:
Edit: all it probably really needs is a check valve inline but wth. I want the best within reason. There’s more expensive ones with less features.

I decided after all this time to color match the black billet GMC emblem in the grill. I hesitated doing this because it’s an expensive piece and powdercoated. But it blends into the black part of the grill. I absolutely SUCK at painting, I have zero patience to wait for 3 coats of base to dry, then 2 coats of clear to dry, etc. But I went ahead. I did 4 coats of base in Pewter Metallic. No runs. Awesome. Then I did the first coat of clear, UPOL #1. I even watched some YouTube on the UPOL since it had no instructions on the can, and that’s when I saw I needed to spray it within 20 minutes of the base, even though on the base it said to wait 30 minutes. So I got in a hurry because 25 minutes had already passed. I was on the 2nd cost of clear, virtually finished, when I bumped it and it fell from the wire hook I had it hanging from and landed in the fu*king dead grass that was my back lawn. It’s messed up. I tried using solvent to wipe it down but it looks like I have to wait until it dries and start over tomorrow. I hate painting, I suck at it. But I WILL fix this, I have to now. Dammit.

Been there. I'm always the ADD guy that lays it down real nice, then touches it like, "Is it dry yet?"

Yeah. I do that too but my favorite thing, one that I can’t seem to quit doing, is to install it before it’s had a chance to cure. I always think either it will be ok or else I won’t touch the painted part. Which I always do and put fingerprints in it. No patience. Well I just sanded it to bare aluminum with 120 grit, then sanded with 320 which is the finest I had. I used my DA for most and hand sanded the small areas in the cracks and edges. Then 3 coats of base followed by 3 coats of clear. This time it’s curing overnight. I pulled the studs off the back so I could lay it flat instead of hanging it up. I think it’s ok this time.

Ok, the paint job itself came out good but the color is a bit off. I'm ordering a can from Automotivetouchup so I know it's right. The Dupli-Color Perfect match was NOT a perfect match. I'll rock it as-is for now. At least the GMC logo is once again prominently displayed.

Looks good! I can see the slight difference in color. But it’s pretty minimal. I think it looks good! I gotta order more paint from them as well. They do such a spot on job mixing the paint to get it matched to factory color! Thankful that everyone here recommended it to me! I have so much paint work to do.....

Fair enough. I didn't take into consideration the blower

It’s the reason I pulled my old one off and sold it, although I found out later I probably could have put a check valve inline. But now I’m also trying to use all braided lines in the engine compartment so I want to just buy one that has that option as well as a clean side separator. I’ve been looking at trying to make braided coolant lines too but that’s looking less likely. All I can find is silicone for $200 or braided covering with fake hose clamp covers.

I used AC Delco touch-up paint (Graystone Metallic) in an aerosol spray can and U-Pol #1 (The OG 3+ year-old "orange can") for my stuff. The color looked slightly darker or like it had an ever so slight brown or amber hue to it when compared to the body color. After a few days of sun exposure, it's spot-on or at least close enough that I can't discern any differences.

I'm sure you've seen these pics before. This is the bow tie I painted compared to an OEM painted door handle. You can see the slight color difference. Over time, it lost the slight brown and gained more of the silver so it matches much better now:

I asked Elite Engineering for a discount on their catch can and they gave me one good for 10% off.I told them I’d give it an honest review here so I will do that. I’m sure there isn’t one worth over $400 but if there is, I believe this is the one. I wanted the best though so now we will see. I went with the works, so stay tuned.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to find a decent wheel brush. This one works great and it was only $13.99. I was looking at Chemical Guys’ $40 brush and decided no. Also my air freshener filters came in, I need these due to this guy.
