This is why when I looked for my Tahoe LT I insisted that it had a Luxury package. Safety features, fog lights, etc. It was a pain to find one with the exact features but I eventually found it.

I considered this at the time, but $2700 for the luxury package seemed like a lot for what you get. Push button start and passive entry are cool, so is the power 3rd row....still not worth the money IMO. We needed the Sun package since it comes with the rear entertainment and navigation, but if you add the Luxury package on top of that, you're in LTZ territory. Therefore, I was willing to sacrifice the fog lights and the other bells & whistles and get the Sun package instead.

When it's all said and done, I'll have under $100 invested in the fog light conversion, using all OEM parts (minus the HID kit).

Yeah I agree. If you needed sun, entertainment destinations package then its too expensive. Might as well get LTZ (though I like the more classic front of the LT better). I got one that has only Navigation from that package.

I finally ordered the fogs and brackets. Once they come in I'll assess what else is needed to make them work and grab the switch from the dealer.

I just did the tow hook mod on mine - another great alternative to this would be to buy the lower fascia with the tow hook indention and put you some of the new DOT approved / street legal Rigid LED lights in there.

That tow hook fascia with the indention/holes would be great for multiple kinds of LED lights. You could go small with like a 2x2 (Dually size) or probably squeeze a larger light in there. I'd have to measure my fascia and see how large the indention is.

That's an interesting idea. I considered alternatives like rigid but opted for the factory look for only $80.

I installed the fogs this evening in about 15 minutes. It's a simple process. First I ordered the brackets from GM Parts Giant for about $42 shipped, using part #s 22936482 and 22936483. I then ordered the lights, that are in fact the 07-13 Silverado fogs, from Amazon for like $36 for the pair! I used part #s 25883245 and 25883246 for this as the pair cost half of what a single light costs using the updated part #s mentioned earlier in the thread.

The install is straight forward. Remove 2 10mm bolts from the bottom of the wheel house liner. They're found just in front of the tire. There's a push rivet there too. Just pop it out. Now you can easily reach behind the filler bracket and remove the 4, 7mm bolts holding it in. Now you're ready to reverse the process with the new bracket and fogs.

The fogs themselves just pop into the brackets with very little effort.

Next up is the harness, which I'm sure is also from the GMT-900 Silverado as well, and the new switch for the Tahoe. Then I'll try and get them wired up. But for now I'm just glad to have those plugs gone. Big thanks to Tom for the part #s.

I just ordered everything up, I'm going to try to get down to the dealer this week and get a part number for the headlight switch.

Blackout07...am I correct in seeing on the models which came with fog lights there is a chrome trim piece above the light?

Only on the LTZs. The LTs all have black "eyebrows" over the fogs regardless if they are equipped with them or not.

Blackout07...have you thought about working a set of Rigid LED's in there instead of the factory lights? I wish you could get a pair that looked more "factory." I know the light would be better, but I just don't see it looking decent. Thoughts?

It could be easily done but I'm not sold on the looks of Rigids. That fad may well pass me by.

I can't see making them look good on a stock or semi stock build. It's a shame though because their lights are amazing.

I did not. Sorry of the post was misleading. Tomorrow I'm going to try a different dealer parts dept and see if I can't get anywhere. I'm still crossing my fingers we won't need a flash to get them to work.
