replacing a factory flip down screen

Hello,
My 07 tahoe's factory flip down screen is being temperamental! it works intermittently. Is there a way to replace the monitor only with a larger aftermarket screen so I can keep the factory head unit, or add headrest screens to the factory dvd???

Where there's a will there's a way, the only issue is the dealership is going to charge you an arm and a leg. If you decide to go the DIY route it will be a capital PITA! They (being the powers that be) do not want you messing with the factory system, and that point is very clearly made when you try to install anything aftermarket on your vehicle.
