Yup, there's a metal prong behind it holding it to the bumper. It's like a thin metal collar with alot of teeth on it. Holds it tight to the bumper itself. You could feel it if you stick your hand behind there.

It really isn't a bad job. Only pita is that collar replacement. I reused mine, but I'm constantly straightening it. Better to get a new one if you can.

It’s called a POS retainer thing lol. I hate them. And now they're about $12, ridiculous for a little POS retainer thing lol. Did I mention I hate them? There's gotta be a better way but they're not reusable and a b**ch to get off.

Just a suggestion. Might not work because that tube is tapered, but can't hurt.

Ordered a new one to have on hand but I’m gonna try and reuse the one that’s already on the truck. @Rocket Man any advice on getting the old out of how to make it easier?! Lol
