And all this time I heard you had to spend money to make money

The only time that’ll be true for me is in October when I drop a pretty penny to have to raid tank repainted. And then after it’s repainted then I can tell my customers yeah look at how badass my truck looks cuz I’m a badass detailer... then the money spent will make me money.... :p

So I picked up a new client at the beginning of June with a 2020 platinum edition Escalade. Absolutely beautiful truck, and she’s consist, having me detail every two-three weeks. Anyways her truck has what’s called maple sugar interior. A nice tan setup. And her gear shifter looks awesome. It’s tan and no chrome bit on the end. I was like I need to get me one of those!! So after almost a month of back and forth with a seller on eBay sending me the wrong colored item(super irritating) I finally got the right one. It’s in and I love the look! That was the shifter mod I mentioned.

Also did another steering wheel but this time I tried a different leather dye tactic and I actually really like it. Picked up a kit from a company called leather world technologies. It’s a liquid spray dye and the color came out really good. A little rough on the backside where some drips formed but no biggie. Like I have said before, my skills aren’t totally perfect when it comes to this kind of project. I also decided to do darker colored grips since I did a really dark colored carbon fiber wrap on the console pieces over the factory grey. Still gotta decided how I’m gonna do the main dash bezel but for now that’ll have to wait. More pressing issues to attend to.....

Gettin kinda luxo-exotic! Toss in some diamond quilted seat inserts and door panels and it'd be ballin.

I love the carbon fiber grips on the steering wheel! That’s all I really wanted! But I can’t seem to find ANYONE within a reasonable distance that will wrap my steering wheel grips.... :banghead:

That part number pulls up a mirror assembly for a Buick Regal.
Dammit. I hate trying to look at a number in one window, close it and open another window, and then type it. I tried copying it but it didn’t work. Now it did: 22857353. Try that one or maybe you secretly want a Buick Regal?

Ship it to @Rocket Man a little bit north of you in Oregon. He's all about wrapping curves. :D
You can’t wrap a circle. Or hydro dip one either. That’s why you can’t find anyone to do it, @adventurenali92. You can wrap or hydro dip something that’s 3/4 of a circle but not completely around like the grips.
Edit: I don’t mean the circle as in the diameter of the steering wheel but the small diameter circle of the grips where your fingers wrap around if that makes sense.

Hmmm didn’t see cashmere listed on gm parts.com as a color option for the 2020 escalade. Only saw black, cocoa and maple sugar. This is the part number for the one I ordered which is maple sugar interior:
84171609
It’s not exactly the same tan, buts A LOT closer of a match than the cashmere colored tan. That one is super light.
