@W8TVI , gotta pic of said harness under the rear bumper? I'm so confused. I'm fairly certain the only kind of wiring harness anywhere near my rear bumper is the trailer light hookup on my tow package.
No, I do not. The LED tails I put on my truck hooked into the light bulb plugs, but @chevrol8t said in his post that the "harness connection was underneath slightly past the bumper."
(It is also too cold out right now to go out and lay on the ground to take a picture)

Yeah I read through the post and it was pretty confusing. I did a Google image search and found a picture of a light swap on a 2000 suburban showing that under body harness. I will look in the morning to see if my truck has that harness. In the meantime, my led tails don't even have a harness that will reach down and plug in. So whether my truck has that harness underneath or not, my led tails won't work. They aren't compatible. I will have to return them and wait for a refund, and then order the ones that he has with a harness that reaches down. Damn.... this really sucks..... stuff just can't ever be simple. ..:Angry:

For what it's worth, I did find this on the GM parts website:

And it shows the same parts for a 2006 truck, as well.

Yeah that's just a stock tail. But I can see the Grey harness that goes down under the truck. The tails the other guy has, has that exact harness to run down and mine don't. So I don't think my leds will work unless they get completely rewired. Which I'm not capable of. So for the time being I've messaged the seller to try and get the return started so I can get a refund on them.

Seller that sold me my tails is a distributor and they have the warehouse tech trying to figure out why the left turn signal doesn't flash the same as the right. They want to send me some resistors to attach to the brake sockets to try and fix cruise issue. Will see what happens with it. In the mean time I finally got my mechanic buddy to drill out a small section of my headlight brackets to allow my vouke G8s to go into my highbeams and clear the bracket. Used them last night and the leds are killer.

Ironically the passenger side which sits in the sun when I'm parked at home in the driveway was not peeling at all, yet the drivers side which is in the shade most of the time was the side peeling. Haha. At any rate I like it without the badges.

Too bad that lettering was going bad, Denali is the only badge I left on my truck. Mines black though and still looks good. I didn't even know it came in chrome. That alone would have been a deal breaker for me. No chrome for me!

Your truck is the only one I've see b with black denali lettering lol. Everything else I've seen has fake chrome. At any rate I liked having the denali on my doors too and when I took emblems off the tailgate I decided to leave the doors alone. But now that they were peeling I decided off they need to go haha. I like it smooth and no letters better!

So tail light update... I took @Red Rocket 's advice and switched the driver and passenger side lights and plugged them into the opposite sides. No change they still function differently from each other so that tells me they are wired to function differently. That's lame. Lol. At any rate the seller is giving me a refund and paying for the return shipping when the refund processes. On the bright side I haven't technically paid for them yet. I used my paypal pay after delivery option. So they cash I out in to pay for them is still in my account. I'll be ordering the other tube style c shape led tails that the other member has and see if those work. Will post updates with those when they get here. The other bright side (pun intended) is that the im getting to enjoy having leds in my headlights cuz they are finally fitted in with small spots drilled out the bracket so that the leds in the high beams cleared in and the headlight mounts properly Loving them!

True. I'm not too worried on this new set. They are same ones Chevrol8t ordered. Will check with him to see if he's had any issues or not.

When you say they still function differently, I'm assuming that they each did the same thing they were doing before you flipped them? In other words, the problem flipped with the lights...?
