I've got a 2000 Tahoe Classic Z71 with the 5.7. I'd like to remove the ugly resonator box. Is there any aftermarket throttle body caps, or whatever they may be called, without the resonator cutout?

no the stock intake is designed to have that resonator box on the piping. if you dont want the extra growl from an intake and are only concerned with the look i suggest adding some color to spruce it up.

Remove the box, cut a patch from it, epoxy it over the hole, sand and paint it. I like JB Weld's black Plastic Bonder epoxy

I've been outta the old Vortec game for a little while, but I don't recall aftermarket intakes including the "hat" on top of the throttle body. Last I knew, they attached to the hat and replaced everything from the accordion tube to the filter box.

could buy on of the cheap Ebay intakes that actually replaces the top and just modify it a bit so you could reconnect it to the stock airbox. give the tube a light scuffying and spray it with some crinkle black for a more oem cleaner look. give a nice smooth flowing tube over to the tb.
