Remote starts but won't unlock door

Like the title says my 2008 Suburban LTZ will allow me to remote start it but then when I hit the unlock button on the fob nothing happens. I can't lock/unlock the doors or even shut the engine off by hitting the start button again. It's almost like my remote isn't recognized. When I used the key to unlock the door it shut off the engine and set off the alarm. Later that night I noticed when I locked the doors with the remote that the security light came on in the gauge cluster.

Any ideas on what the problem might be???

But it works to unlock lock when not using remote start?

After i lock my 13 with remote security light illuminates also, prob something you haven't noticed because yoy are walking away normally when you lock but now you are standing there watching it. My 'alarm' goes off too with a key door unlock..Sounds stupid but maybe battery in remote is weak. Take it apart and clean contacts with your fingers a little spit, pencil eraser whatever. See if that does it. If not maybe the module is going bad in truck or loose connection (doubtful) ....locks work normally with remote alone and from door panel switch though right?

Yes it works fine to lock/unlock without remote start and sometimes it works fine with remote start and yes the locks function fine from door panel switch.

I had thought about changing the battery in the remote just to see but then I left to go back out of town so I guess I will try that when I get back next time.

Listen, im the furthest thing from a mechanic but im just throwin ideas out maybe itll work...
