My new 2019 Yukon SLT came equipped with 20” Continental tires, when I complained about low speed road noise, the dealer changed them to Michelin Defenders. I don’t think think that change was an improvement!!

What is your favorite tire brand for an SUV like mine, that would still provide performance and above all, a quiet ride.

All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Welp! Here we go again!

75% will say Michelin’s are the best, 15% will say Bridgestone and the rest will be split up among Duratracs, KO2’s and a smattering of other brands.

I'd suggest that since you are now running the "best" tire on the vehicle and the noise is still an issues, maybe it's not your tires? Have you have them check alignment, door fitment, other body seals, etc?

The dealer replaced the rear shocks, replaced the original set of tires, checked for loose parts, wrapped brake cables with padding, checked balance and alignment.

No, your right. I was already trying not to comment on what tires.

@Ron McKuin what is your intended purpose for the truck and what types of terrain do you encounter?

Generally an in town driver and few highway trips. Noise most bothersome at 20-30 mph. I do not do any off roading!!

Probably don’t even need 4 Ed?

I honestly don't know what to tell you. My Michelin Defenders are extremely quiet throughout the speed spectrum.

So at 20-30 mph you can hear the tires and it bothers you? Can you get a video of what you’re describing?

Also, what tire pressure are you actually running..

Not sure it is the tires?? Not sure where the rumbling noise originates?

Tire pressures are 33-34 psi. Thanks

Had those on my wife's 2010 Tahoe we just sold in lieu of the Suburban we just got and while they were nice and quiet and all that, I wasn't too impressed with the wear. In 15K miles they were pretty damn worn, even with my frequent air checks, rotating them every 5-7K etc. And they didn't even come with treadlife warranty.

Was thinking about Eagle Tourings for the Sub, but since GY didn't want to give any treadlife warranty on them either, I just ordered a set of Bridgestone Dueler Alenza H/Ls from Costco. Have never bought a set of Bridgestones, so we'll see how it goes. Treadlife warranty is 80K, though.

I know treadlife warranty isn't necessarily an indication of anything, but at least I can go back to Costco and complain in case they wear out too soon.
