Just a quick lament and wondering out loud. I had to replace a burnt out rear wiper motor on my 06 Tahoe, the plastic nut left it's threads on the old motor. I'm pleased to see that I can get a replacement for a few bucks (even from a stealership!), but I'm confused as to why they're made of plastic rather than metal. Thoughts, comments and conspiracy theories welcome.

To prevent galvanic corrosion? I don't know...
