Rear Park Assist Help (with button)

To try to help with the confusion, I have re-wrote this in the simplest way I can think of.

I have a Rear park assist button, This-
$_57.jpg

along with the plug and harness.
(sorry for the huge pic)

I want to use this switch to turn on my led foot well lights and have that sleek factory look, without switches all over.

The part number for the switch is : #15763185 (if that matters)

The wire colors on the harness are: (for those that may know or want to know)
1. black w/ white stripe - ground
2. brown w/ white stripe - illumination
3. purple w/ white stripe - ?????
4. Solid gray wire- ?????

Does any one know if it is possible to use this as a ON/OFF switch?
Or does anyone have a diagram of switches for our SUV's?

( or in really short, I want to keep stock look and make my Park assist button turn on custom led foot well lights. Is this possible?

Thanks and hopefully this makes sense.

Mike

That is kind of what i was thinking when i re-read it. Let me edit it and maybe that will help.

Let me know if that makes more sense or not.

Just want to use a factory button as a switch.

You should have sent that with the other switch punk, I would have hooked you up!

Call me today, I'll tell you how to figure the switch out!

Mike, did I put blue LEDs in that switch for you? Or is that something new you got and wanna just use it as a on/off switch for your interior LEDs???
BTW, send me them steering wheel switches when you get a chance and I'll stab some blue LEDs in there for you. I still owe you that for the green bowtie. :Handshake:

One more question. When you press the button, does it click in and stay in (or in the on postiton) ? Or does it seem like its just a momentary button?

Nope scott, this is something I just got to do just as you stated. Well might have some more than just those to send if i can get this to work and head light again, stops working alot now-the dimmer does

-- When you push this button it does click, push again it clicks again. It does not stay pushed in. It disables the park assist in escalades. Kind of like the trac button.

That might work as a 3 wire (power/ground/illumination) like the cargo or fog light button. You'll just have to find the power wire and go from there. I'm not really sure what the 4th wire is for on that switch.

Yeah im kind of lost on how it works. Might try the fog & Cargo light and see if they have same wires.

One thing i did get out of it, is the solid gray and brown wire have connection, (cant say the right word conduitivity or something) but thats it.

So if anyone has a diagram / schematic of the switches on the dash, would love to see them. (cant find them)

But a good friend said, "Never underestimate someone" with that, i will have them working one day.
