there is an ac orifice tube that could block the flow of refrigerant to the rear evaporator.
that's in the front.
It's somewhat of a weird looking thing, really just a screen.

When I did my AC I ended up just cleaning it and reinstalling since i couldn't find a pn listing for it, then it turned out to be a metal screen.

I checked my FSM for mention of a expansion valve in the rear, and there is one.

Found the pn
Air Conditioning Thermal Expansion Valve - GM (25994366)

Stock picture for the evaporator, it looks like it's deep in there.
Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Core - GM (84802280)

Probably will need this too.
Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Outlet Hose Seal - GM (89019245)

Then add this,
^ nice little kit there.
Perfect fit for my tahoe, and i had plenty left over for the ac condenser on the wife's Buick.
I'll probably be using more of those on a compressor replacement that i got roped into this weekend.

Great info! Thank you!

I'll have to collect a bunch of parts and tools and have everything ready to crack it open and replace stuff during one of our 1-2 week spells of winter weather.
