Just got my 2015 Yukon about a month ago and am hearing a rattle in the driver door when I go over a bumpy road, etc. I took it back to the dealer for a few things and told them about the rattle. They told me that they found a loose screw or clamp or something and acted like it was all squared away. As I drove away from the dealer, hit a bumpy part of the road and heard it loud and clear again. Thought I'd wait until I needed my first (free) oil change to have them try again. As I drive though, it kinda drives me crazy knowing that it's there and kinda eats at me.

Anyone else have this rattling noise come from the door? Any fixes or even just info on what it could be?

Thanks for any and all guidance!

If if bothered you that much(I don't blame you as I can't stand rattles or squeaks) I would have turned right around and went back to the service writer and taken him for a ride or the service manager or the tech that worked on it and asked them politely and firmly that I wanted it fixed properly this time. The tech and I have diagnosed rattles driving around in the parking lot before. As far as what it is it could be several things inside the door. Lots of parts in there. Good luck.

Thanks @Tahoe14. Yeah, I really wanted to turn back, but I was in a rush to get somewhere else. My oil change is coming up soon too. The Mrs, who drives it 80% of the time says she doesn't even notice it. Crazy to me. I'm tempted to take the door off myself and start tinkering. Anyone know if taking the door off is pretty simple or would I be opening up a whole can of worms?

I did it and it is a little bit of a pain with the weatherstrip. there is a you tube for door panel removal of a 2014 chevy silverado which is pretty much the same new design as ours. Just follow his instructions and you should be fine. if you are the least bit unsure then I would just take it to the dealer. Good luck.

Thanks @Tahoe14. I did YouTube it like you suggested. I am slightly hesitant with it. If I wasn't going to go to the dealer pretty soon (probably within a month for a free oil change) then I think I'd be more motivated. It only bothers me because I'm actually really loving everything else about the truck and that just rains on my parade just a tiny bit. I appreciate your help Tahoe14! I'm just going to be a little more demanding and harsh with the dealer this time and will probably ask for the service guy to ride with me so that he can hear what I hear. At least I know a road right around the dealership that will highlight the rattle! Haha

Weird thing, I noticed a rattle from the drivers door friday. Every bump, not too loud but noticeable. Drove 300 miles over the weekend, family in the car and didn't think to listen for it, haven't noticed it since. I've been trying to hear it and once I do I'll have one of my guys pull the door panel.

Thanks man! I'm planning on bringing my truck in either later this week or early next to get the free oil change and have them check out the door. Let me know if you might pull the door before then and I'll make sure to do the same for you! Thanks for the response and the offer.

I have the same thing in our 15 yukon xl. More noticeable at speed and when hitting bumps but I also hear it more when making sweeping right turns at speed.

I occasionally hear the noise in the driver's door. It's only occasionally, and it's a clicking sound, like a cable tapping against something.

I also experience the clicking. Intermittent. I notice it happens more often after I had the window down. Similarly when the clicking is occurring, if I put the window down and up a few times it seems to go away.

I have a rattle on the passenger side it appears to be in the rear door or pillar between front and rear. Hard to narrow down. I'll probably wait until my oil change if I can help it.

Also heard a little one on the driver side as well maybe from the seatbelt slide

I had the same issue. The black plastic trim pieces on the outside of the door are held on by, what looks like some kind of rivets/tabs. My noise was like like fast ticking. Anyway I removed the trim piece and the tab that was holding it in at the bottom was broke. Put some clear silicone in its place and now no more tapping. The rear passenger side was coming off, luckily it's held in by the door or it would have been on the freeway. Also my noise was more pronounced at 70mph.

a rattle/screeching/tapping noise developed by drivers side window, right next to my ear, recently as well, starts on hwy at 45 mph. Annoying as heck, having service look at it when I bring it back for a SECOND time for the XM "signal being blocked" you know when I'm driving in WI, our corn grows tall, not that tall... 2700 miles on it

Had it at the dealer all day. They changed the 3 black trim/pillar pieces and my noise went away. It is a poor design, so expect it to happen again. When it happens again, I will just silicone it. Also they changed the front dome light assembly out. My riders did t see it flash, but I'm going to take it out tonight and see if it does the disco.
