I used to work at company that was big on safety and it was required to back-up into our parking spots... Any jobsite, or even at the office. Everyone, no exceptions. 100%. Got old pretty quickly, especially if you just wanted a quick snack at a busy gas station while on the clock.

The idea was to minimize backing into non-moveable items when leaving parking spots. But was told even then, a lot of the reported incidents were still hitting non-moveable items...

Every professional driving course I ever attended advocating backing in, or pulling through when possible.

I don't remember any of them teaching me to watch the wrong obstructions though.

I back in as close to 100% of the time, as I can. I can pull by and see what is in the parking spot. I also see WAY BETTER when I am pulling away. Backing out of a parking space pisses me off. Idiots racing past you as you back out and you have to watch for traffic from at least 2 if not 3 directions. I back in to my driveway.

At the VA there are signs everywhere that tell us to pull in to parking spot and not back in. I break the rules each and every time I go there.

I figure the VA lied to me about my "Completely free to me medical care" after I got out of active duty because I have had to pay a co-pay for some meds and some doctor visits. The level of my medical care is just fine with me. I had my annual physical today and like my ***. She actually cares because she served.

I could've done that, and damaged only the dirt, if I'd just been looking at the right pole.

I'm pretty unhappy with me.

My first accident was similar. Newly licensed, I was driving my brother on his paper route and backed into the "other" pole that I missed when I turned to look. They were 6 ft apart. Needless to say Dad wasn't too happy but I visited the junkyard, got a used bumper, and replaced it. I eventually bought that '64 Ford Falcon from Dad.

That part in red - incorrect. Anyone could buy a GMT900 2500 from a dealer. You're probably confusing the 2016-2019 Suburban 3500HD, which was indeed only available to fleet customers (could be non-gov't fleet).

The new Suburbans being made for SS and DSS are indeed Gov't only.

Back to your 2013 - GoRhino absolutely made a push bar for the 2500 Suburban. I bought one from them. The only difference with what you have is probably the mounting hardware. Call them and ask if they have it for sale.

Push bars are exactly that - they're meant to push vehicles gently. They're not protection. In fact, quite the opposite. Insurance adjusters call them damage multipliers because they'll cause additional damage in a small fender bender.
Thanks guys been doing some travel for work lately. Appreciate the info, going to reach out to Go Rhino.
